The site is based upon a freemium model, where you get a certain amount of information for free and then any contact information is available at a premium cost.

Derventio housing approached me and requested a site to cover their 3 aspects,

Immediately upon visiting the site you are presented with 3 options, colour schemed to match each arm of the business.

The site boasts a number of features such as property search and content management.

Find me the cheapest is an affiliate based price comparison site using product data feeds from a number of affiliate platforms including Trade Doubler and Affiliate Window.

When the user searches for a product the comprehensive database is searched returning the best prices, if a user knows of a better price at a high street retailer (which the site has an affiliate link for, pretty much most) the user can post that at FMTC and will then receive a percentage commission, approx 50% of the platform payout, This then has the benefit to FMTC that the purchasing user is cookie’d and as such any further purchases made within the next 30 – 90 days also earn commission.

The site also contains a repository of voucher codes.

Romantic Shopping.co.uk is an affiliate based site which specialises in those ‘perfect moment’ type products which every girl loves on valentines day.

The affiliate products are supplied from Affiliate Window and then categorised using a management system and output to the user.

Romantic shopping is only one of a number of sites built using this engine and then deployed throughout the web.

The brief was to create two sister sites, one DLRAA and one WNAA both content managed on the behalf of the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

This Mobile site was developed using Codeigniter and is a database driven application, it is a Mobile Business Card solution, providing unique URL’s to each contact and displaying a personalised page for them. QR codes were then generated for each individual allowing a quick scan business card to appear and allow the visitor to bookmark at their leisure.

You may notice that the phone numbers on the image are in the international format with the “(0)” included, this can cause problems as Smart Phones recognise these phone numbers and allow you to click to dial that number, however in the UK at least if you try to dial +44 (0) 1234 56789, your call will simply fail as that is not a valid UK phone number, to get around this issue, use of the Smart Phone “tel:” tag was included. This allows us to have any text clickable to call a number of choice thus avoiding the problem. There is also an “sms:” tag which allows easy text messaging.

The contact form on the site was developed using HTML5 so that the input type was relevant to the data required, such as input types of text, email and tel. The use of which changes the Smart Phone input keyboard to the relevant one for that type of information.

There is also some jQuery error checking providing “alert()” popups to display errors using your mobile’s very own interface.

Stat information is collected using a combination of custom code, saving the information to the database, as well as Google Analytics for over all data. This data is then output in an administration panel and aggregated to show

• and who received the most contact forms
• and by when

Hey Babe is a pregnancy awareness site aimed at teenagers in the Leicestershire area and site received over 1 million hits during it’s first month online.

Sporting a design targeted at teenagers and [at the time of launch] a weekly miniseries video this site was sure to have a massive impact in one of the worst effected parts of the country.

The site was supported by the launch of an anonymous viral video to Youtube, which immediately got banned (Even youtube thought it was real!), the news of it getting banned reached the tabloids, links to the website were available on the home page of many of these newspapers including the Sun. The viral video was filmed with the help of a local stagecoach group and brings you to a shocking realism that teenage pregnancy is an issue. CAUTION: The viral video is not for the feint of heart.

Being the HUGE company that they are, Amadeus decided to create a game for their Cars Plus division, this was a fun racing game which you can enjoy in your spare time, whilst I can’t confess to making this game, that credit must go to Barry Langton, I did modify it for use within various Amadeus Micro sites, as well as within this Facebook integration.

Once you complete the 5 stages within the game, the Flash then calls a piece of Javascript, which in turn calls the post to my profile function of Facebook, however passing information between Flash and Javascript isn’t always the easiest thing, I assure you.

However thanks to my efforts, the same is now happily sitting within Facebook and currently as 89 likes, it may not sound like a lot but within a VERY niche market, it is.
